What is the purpose of this program?

The purpose of this program is to train the youth in Ghana in advanced digital and IT skills. The successful candidates, if they choose, will have an opportunity for an employment pathway through the service centers in Ghana to work for international clients on IT related projects with an entry-level salary of GHS2,000.00.

 

Is it only a training program? 

It is a training program primarily leading to an employment pathway. Upon successful completion of the training, the candidates will have an option to an employment offer as a full-time employee.

 

What are the benefits of this program?

This program will train the youth in Ghana and sub-Saharan Africa, in the necessary skills for IT and digital employment. Candidates who successfully complete our rigorous training will then have an option to the employment pathway that we offer. Employed graduates at the service centres will have a rewarding career in IT, working amongst a team of highly qualified professionals in a global and multicultural setting with great opportunities for growth, training, and development. 

 

I am already working somewhere; can I join this program on a part-time basis?

No, this is a rigorous program that requires your full-time commitment. 

 

How many hours per week are required, for this program?

It is a full-time training program, so it would require 40 hours a week commitment in addition to homework. 

 

I already have an advanced degree in IT/Computer Science, am I also required to go through the training? 

Yes, the training not only includes the technical skills but general skills as well which are required to function efficiently in geographically distributed, multicultural and international teams (e. g. leading a team, project management skills). If you already have an advanced degree, it does not replace the training but is advantageous in your career advancement.

What is the course format?

The courses will be delivered in AmaliTech Training Academy in the presence of teachers and trainers. The curriculum will be administered using a blended learning approach in a mix of online and on-site learning.

What is the eligibility criteria for the program?

Each specialization has its own minimum eligibility criteria. Please refer to individual open positions for further details. Generally, applicants should have a minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in ICT or Bachelor's Degree (for subjects please refer to job descriptions of individual positions) or higher. Applicants with a background in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar fields will have a distinct advantage. 

 

What are the steps of the selection process?

The selection process includes CV screening and review, Assessment test online and on-site test and interviews.

 

What is the pattern and structure of the online assessment test?

The online assessment test primarily comprises of multiple choice mathematics questions. It would test the applicants quantitative and logical reasoning.

What is the pattern and structure of on-site assessment test?

The onsite assessment test will comprise of three parts. First part would be general quantitative reasoning, the  second part would comprise of verbal reasoning. The first two parts are common irrespective of the specialization that you have applied for. The third part however would be dependent on the specialization. For Software Development applicants, it would involve coding a program. For Software testing, it would comprise of testing and documenting software. And for Data Science it would include a test of probability and statistics.

What are the documents required to apply for this program?

Is there any age limit?

No, there is no age limit for this program.

 

Is it mandatory to have an IT background?

Not entirely. This is dependent on the specialisation.

  • Data Science: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in  Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics or a closely related field
  • Software Development and Engineering: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT
  • Software Testing and Verification: Minimum of an HND in ICT with good working knowledge of software programming, or a bachelor’s degree or Higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, other Engineering Programs or Natural Sciences

What are the charges/tuition fees for this program?

There are no charges or tuition fees that the applicant has to pay to AmaliTech at any step of the process. AmaliTech will bear all the associated costs regarding the administration of training and curriculum. However, the candidate will be responsible for their own personal expenses.

How much experience is required?

There is no requirement of previous professional experience for making an application to our graduate trainee program. 

 

Are reference letters required for applying for this job?

No, the reference letters are not required at the time of application. However, names and contact addresses of three professional or academic references are required during the application stage. These references will be contacted before the final selection.

Yes. In order to cushion and assist trainees with their personal expenses during their training period, a scholarship scheme has been introduced. The scholarships are need-based and performance-based scholarships.

Trainees for our second and third phases of recruitment will join our training academy on May 01, 2020, and September 01, 2020, respectively.

 

Can a non-Ghanian apply for this program?

Yes, a non-Ghanaian can apply.

 

Is there any hostel or transport facility available?

Currently, there is no hostel or transport facility available.
