AmaliTech hosted its maiden Women in Tech Summit at their office in Accra, on 15th July.
The Summit which was hybrid, had 100s of women joining online, with 70 ladies joining in person at our office in East Legon, Accra.
The summit was a constellation of brilliant minds gathered, celebrating the power and potential of women in the tech industry. We heard from phenomenal speakers who shared insights about their journeys in tech, empowering us all to break barriers and push boundaries.
Our Guest Speaker, Lily Dzamesi shared her expertise in supporting aspiring women and spearheading projects aimed at creating an inclusive environment for Women in the Tech industry.As our Guest Speaker, her presentation highlighted the importance of diversity and representation in the tech industry.
Seasoned women in the tech industry, notably Lois Ewurama Young (CSR Team Lead, AmaliTech); Anita Twumasi-Ankrah (Quality Assurance Engineer, AmaliTech); Jacqueline Abban-Botchway (Software Developer, AmaliTech); Ewurabena Amoa-Bosompem (Scrum Master, AmaliTech); Tracy Sarah Afram-Owusu (Frontend Developer, AmaliTech); Farida Baberin-Yor Beacher (IT Infrastructure and Security Manager, AmaliTech) took turns to share their experiences, overcoming impostor syndrome and many more. All of these women double as Women inclusion advocates, as a significant period of their career have been dedicated to empowering women to join the tech industry.
The summit underscored the importance of gender diversity in tech, reminding us that innovation thrives in the presence of varied perspectives. We left the event even more committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where women in tech can flourish.
